STRESS IS PREVALENT IN BOTH DEVELOPED AND DEVELOPING ECONOMIES, HOW CAN YOU DEAL WITH STRESS USING YOGA PRACTICES

I was going through survey data on Stress in Australia and USA. I noted that 87% of the Australian adult population had been affected by stress, and 90% of doctor’s visits are stress related in the USA. These are developed societies and provide a high level of health care, yet these figures are staggering. Are people becoming less stress resilient? Or is life in the 21st century more stressful than the 19th or 20th centuries? Or do you think the methodologies being used to deal with stress are not working? It is worth pondering the answers if you are a person affected by chronic stress.

So why is stress so prevalent is something worth pondering and addressing.

Sustained feeling of being stressed -called Chronic stress–  is not only disruptive to a person’s life but it also imposes a huge cost to the nation. In USA alone stress is estimated to cost the economy a whopping $300 Billion!!! as reported by Gillian Mohney recently.

Does stress have something to do with food, lifestyle, or environment? Perhaps it is time to explore stress, anxiety, its causes, and how we can prepare ourselves to deal with life’s inevitable ups and downs.

Wars, Financial issues, Health, Relationship issues all cause stress, and these have existed since humans roamed the earth. In the 21st century we have more facilities, conveniences, choices than our past generations and yet we seem to be affected by Stress. So, it is time we understand where Stress originates from, Why it can be good for us some times and why it is not good for us. Then you can explore the various ways to deal with your stress perhaps even completely beat it.

In recent surveys done by scientific community 86% of respondents said Yoga helped them deal with stress better.
