A bamboo does not grow much for the first four years or so. Then it shoots up almost a meter a day. What does the bamboo do in the first few years? It develops a deep root system that will sustain itโs height, suck water from deep underground to feed the rapid growth about to ensue and withstand the floods and storms that sweep away other trees. What does this tell us?
