At Sanatana Yoga Academy we wish to bring you authentic and affordable Yoga, irrespective of age, or physical ability. Our vision is to make yoga available to all, especially the disadvantaged sections of the community. We offer free sessions for selected groups in the community who cannot get access to regular Yoga such as seniors & prisoners. A healthy body is an essential prerequisite to discovering the purpose of life. Yoga transforms us to become non-judgemental, self-aware, mindful, and inclusive people.
Be like a Bamboo in life Practice Yoga

“ Na Sreyo Niyamam Vina” says Sage Patanjali. This means “There can be no welfare without discipline”. Practicing Yoga requires discipline and patience. That brings us to the life of bamboo.

A bamboo does not grow much for the first four years or so. Then it shoots up almost a meter a day. What does the bamboo do in the first few years? It develops a deep root system that will sustain it’s height, suck water from deep underground to feed the rapid growth about to ensue and withstand the floods and storms that sweep away other trees. What does this tell us? Like the Bamboo farmer,  stay patient and keep up your Yoga practice practicing, develop your Yoga practice, develop inner strength in a physical and mental sense, develop your foundation of values, inner vision on who you are, where are you heading in life, what is your life destination. There onwards your journey in Life would be the same as the bamboo, fast and steady.

I have been attending Sanatana Yoga for many months now. Classes fit in with my busy schedule and are affordable. The classes are perfect for beginners like me and individual attention is given to attendees with an injury or illness as the classes are small groups. Narendra's introduction into Mindfulness of Yoga was an invaluable moment of lifestyle change for me. Two years ago I underwent a heart stent procedure & from that moment I was obsessing about my well being to a point where it thrust me into an awfully dark place. I felt lethargic when I got up in the morning, felt I didn't have the stamina to perform anything, my sleep pattern was terrible and I was a frequent visitor to my family GP's clinic. Trust me it is not a healthy experience. Out of sheer desperation I turned to Nathan and that changed my life forever. I am not saying a miracle happened overnight, far from that. Miracle did happen but over a period. Naren is the one who gently introduced me to the mindfulness of living via yoga practice. Commenced initially with mindfulness of meditation then to body scanning extended that to pranayama and then to asanas. This is the best ever investment that I made on my health & well-being under Naren's guidance. I now practice this discipline daily without exception in a mindfulness way. Amazing knowledgeable down to earth teacher for an authentic yoga experience. No pretence No Lycra - but incredible big emphasis on breathing techniques while doing yoga asanas and most importantly you start with a warm up of every joints to prevent injuries. The only yoga place I can keep going few times a week because it’s high quality teaching at more than reasonable costs. Worth a try!!!
